Stainless Steel Thermosiphon Systems


These systems are usually the best option in Queensland. Thermosiphon systems sit entirely on the roof, with tank and collectors mounted together. Solar energy is used to circulate the water as well as to heat it, so these systems require no circulating pump. The design is simple and robust, and with a stainless steel tank there is no anode to require regular service/replacement, saving both money and trouble. These systems will usually provide the best performance for the least expense, and are very popular for this reason.

We provide this type of system in a number of different configurations, ranging from a 180 litre tank with a single panel (perfect for the 2 person household) up to 440 litre systems with 3 panels suitable for a house of 10. The tanks come in your choice of colorbond© colours to match your roof.

Superior Copper Absorber Plates
                              

The key to efficiency in solar hot water production is in the absorber plate. The more heat it absorbs and retains, the more efficient the heating. Edwards Solar has in its range a superior titanium coated copper solar absorber called the titan combining first grade copper with titanium, to show superior qualities in both solar performance and durability compared to solar panels constructed of mild steel and black chrome coated surface.



Split Systems and Heat Pumps



While the Edwards thermosiphon systems are most often the best choice for customers in SE Queensland, there are some cases where another type of system will actually be a better choice. We offer a full range of split-system solar hot water heaters (systems where the tank is installed at ground level and the panels go on the roof alone) and heat pumps (systems which work without panels - nothing on the roof at all!) With a full range of products on offer we have no need to sell you a system that is not optimal for your personal situation.
